The journey has come to an end. My Beast, the CBR, passed the MOT inspection today and is now declared fully street legal. I feel happy to the point of being drained of all energy. This has been the goal since I first started tearing everything apart, completely clueless, last December: to pick a bike apart and put it back together in a street legal state. I have achieved that goal now and can check that box of the bucket list.
Today’s inspection was a breeze, except for the inspector because the computer system was down. “Turn signal left – check, turn signal right – check. You’re good to go!” But what a journey. How much I have learned during this process, I cannot describe.
But I couldn’t have done it without you. All you who’s been with me, reading this blog. My faithful friends and believers on Instagram and Facebook, supporting me when things were looking dark. The incredible guys at CBR Forum – Mattson, Phil314, Existenz_is and many others. I cannot thank you all enough for all the help and encouragement.
Riding the bike is a completely different story now. Of course I’m a bit worried, but knowing everything I’ve done to it and hear her roar makes me filled with you and pride. It’s like she’s mine completely now, body and soul. And I am hers too, after all I am the one riding a monster, putting my life and trust in her (and my work).
This road has come to an end but we’re about to embark on another journey, a more cosmetic one but still an interesting way to go as I am about to freshen her up a bit. I bet it’s going to be just as awesome as this adventure has been. Oh, don’t worry. I will continue to blog just as much as I have, if not more. Stay tuned, folks!
