Time to go more in-depth with the products from TomTom I’ve been hanging onto for some time now. We are talking about the TomTom Bandit action camera and the TomTom RIDER 400, their new motorcycle specific navigator. I brought them both on the amazing trip to Grisslehamn this weekend to see how they stood up against the Garmin Montana and GoPro… Fortsätt läsa Test: TomTom Bandit and RIDER
It’s time for my first overnight offroad motorcycle adventure. We’re talking sleeping bag, tent, fire starting tools, the whole lot. Now this only for the night so it’s more of a trial-and-error-tour to see how to pack and what to bring. I already know more or less what to bring since I’ve spent more than a few nights in the woods but I haven’t brought my stuff on a bike before… Fortsätt läsa AFK – adventure awaits
Thinking of which GPS to get for your bike? So do many people and let me tell you, it’s a jungle out there. For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been using my friend’s Garmin Montana, supposedly the best GPS for the offroad adventurer there is. I can’t speak for it’s efficiency in that sense but for the onroad adventurer it does have its flaws. Like finding places for example. For that reason, I’ve decided to test another competitor… Fortsätt läsa Another test coming up
This weekend I made a short time lapse using the built-in function of taking one frame in 1080p every second. It turned out okay and naturally I wanted to show you this. Unfortunately Google, who kind of owns Internet, has decided to make the worst god damn apps to iOS, the YouTube app and the YouTube Capture apps. Since it seems nearly impossible to upload a video in true HD-quality, you’ll have to take my word for it when I say that the time lapse looks much better when played from the original file… Fortsätt läsa TomTom Bandit: Time lapse
I am about to hit the town with Nite Ryderz so all I have time to is to show you this video made with the “shake to edit”-function of the TomTom Bandit action camera. As far as selection goes, I made a mistake which meant that the available source material was lacking and I cut out the audio due to it being horrible and added a song instead. The bad angling is the result of the GoPro-mount lacking the sufficient strength to keep the camera upright. Oh, there are various resolutions and frame rates in this clip. More on everything tomorrow… Fortsätt läsa TomTom Bandit action camera: First video
I just felt I had to bring some proof to the table. Proof that I actually got a working display now. And since I began my testing of the TomTom Bandit action camera, why not combine the two? So far I have only managed to test the camera in low light conditions, like really low light, and on two different settings: 720p/120 fps and 1080p/30 fps.
No matter how many tools I buy, there always seems to be room for one more in the toolbox. Meet my latest investment: a tool for measuring TDC (Top Dead Center) among other things. As usual I got it cheap off eBay but unlike some other stuff, this tool was actually made, or at least sold in Europe. Not that it matters really, most of my tools have been good value for money which means they have been dirt cheap but done their job at least half-decent… Fortsätt läsa Toolbox titan
The relatively new product category of action cameras have opened a whole new world for the avid motorcyclist. They bring an easy way of showing the world the incredible feeling of riding and can record evidence of the systematic violence being brought upon us by cagers all around the world. Long has this segment been dominated by GoPro, but TomTom wants in and has developed the Bandit action cam. These are my first impressions… Fortsätt läsa First look: TomTom Bandit Action Cam
