The blog has been a bit left behind the last week and for that I’m sorry but I can assure you that it is far from dead. No, my friends, it is very much alive and ’tis the season where heroes are reborn and adventures are lived. Let me introduce you to my newest companion on the road to stardom, success and, most importantly, a summer of endless riding: The KTM 690 Enduro! Fortsätt läsa The road warrior reborn
For all you readers thinking that I’ve given up because of the recent failure, I just want to say: Never! I have been occupied with washing the KTM which I’ll sell tomorrow. I never thought I would feel this way about a machine, but the thought of losing her forever almost brings me to tears… Fortsätt läsa No deus in this machina
I’ve written about the level of service given when shopping for gear before, or rather the lack of. Nothing is more sad than to see an eager shopper, maybe shopping his or her first gear after having passed the test, only to be greeted with a kind of non-enthusiastic behavior displayed by some of the clerks working in stores around Stockholm. It pisses me off, to be frank. Of course you can have a shitty day, but hey, if someone comes in to spend a lot of money and needs your help, you suck it up and help them out. If you don’t like it, get the fuck out of the business. Fortsätt läsa Shopping for dreams
As much as I love to wrench (well, it is a love-hate-relationship), I love riding even more. The thrill of the speed, of the small margins separating success from disaster, the wind in my face… There is no feeling like it. So today the Nite Ryderz assembled for the second time this season… Fortsätt läsa The urban chase
This is my hundredth post and I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all. I can see that I have readers, and most likely fellow riders, all over the world and that makes me happy. Some of you drop in, read a couple of posts, never to be seen again while others are regular. No matter what, I am grateful for your time. Fortsätt läsa Celebration time
Workwise I am in for two tough weeks which means I won’t have that much time to build on the CBR but tomorrow I’ll pick up the powder coated frame and I’ll try to find time to get the cylinder head back on the engine so I can mount it in the frame. As I’ve written before, I’ve chosen a satin black, or “black frei” as the powder coater called it, for the frame. Fortsätt läsa Frame on!
My CBR-project is once more delayed. Getting parts for a
reasonable amount of money in a reasonable amount of time in this country seems to be nearly impossible. I am looking for two small oil collars to the oil cooler, and I found a Swedish supplier but unfortunately they can’t get their hands on those until the end of April. April. That’s half the season gone Fortsätt läsa Spare parts and time
Sun shining, just a tad over freezing, dry ground… Of course I had to take the first ride of the season. Not on my Honda, that engine is still split, but my wonderful KTM roared to life although it took some effort. It was amazing to be back behind bars again. Roaming the streets of a city void of motorcycles, we owned the day. Apparently I had missed it more than I cared to confess even to myself, but I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the day. Only 20 kilometres but man, did it do some good to my soul. Do you dream of mechanical beasts? Does your wrist twitch with anticipation every time you hear a motorcycle pass by? Have you felt the true freedom that can only come with being on two, or even one, wheel? Then you have come to the right place. Fortsätt läsa Welcome!
