M.button, M.unit, M.showtime

Well, that was fast. The M.button came in the mail today, faster than I expected. Props to the good people at Jemparts.se for the fast delivery although I must say that their customer service and communication skills leave much to be desired. Anyways, I can now proceed with the Great Wiring… Fortsätt läsa M.button, M.unit, M.showtime

Brake service

BrakeMotorcycles are not only the best therapy there is, magical beasts of steel and physics, freedom distilled and delivered in powerful punches, but they are also excellent metaphors for life. If you don’t actively work on them, they won’t fix themselves. With that in mind, I did some basic cleaning of the front brake that has been giving me problems for some time.  Fortsätt läsa Brake service

How to wrap the pipes

IMG6182Or rather, how not to… But never mind, at least I got the job done. I’ve been meaning to do this for ages and when I received the wraps the other day, I decided to try it out. Looking at the pipes, it wasn’t really as necessary as I thought it was. The exhaust were in decent shape with just a bit of rust and burn on parts connecting to the engine but hey, if you got it, flaunt it, right?! Fortsätt läsa How to wrap the pipes

Moving in slow motion

plateandtailMaybe it’s the time of the year, maybe it’s the mess with the KTM 690 and the poor support given by the dealer, but I’m not really in my regular bike mode and haven’t been for a while. It kind of pains me to think of the KTM 690 Enduro and missed adventures. On the other hand, I still feel proud of my Honda accomplishments and more things are about to come… Fortsätt läsa Moving in slow motion

How to make a custom seat – preparations, part 2

SeatFitment“So, how’s that seat coming along? You know, the seat you were supposed to make a while ago? That seat? Remember?” Well, Stewie, I’ve got news for you and I’m making progress. Today I went to the man cave, intending to finish up the tail section but instead I ended up working on the seat… Fortsätt läsa How to make a custom seat – preparations, part 2

Tail light swagger

IMG6056The plan was to repair the leaking petcock and work on the new seat. The reality was I did neither. As soon as I entered the man cave I got an idea. Why don’t I work on the tail section of the bike instead? At least get some measurements and start planning before I get to it with the seat fabrication. Well, I didn’t really get to that stage… Fortsätt läsa Tail light swagger

How to make a custom seat – preparations, part 1

IMG6047I suck when it comes to write ups, but I will try to do my best during this process of making a custom seat. Hopefully I can help someone not to make all the mistakes I am about to make. Bear in mind, I have never tried this before and my skills with wood, metal and fabric are about as lame as they come. I will try to compensate that with a lot of cursing, ingenuity, googling and improvising. First part: getting the right material! Fortsätt läsa How to make a custom seat – preparations, part 1

TomTom Bandit: Time lapse

19784_10152901547405922_6562901408833575357_nThis weekend  I made a short time lapse using the built-in function of taking one frame in 1080p every second. It turned out okay and naturally I wanted to show you this. Unfortunately Google, who kind of owns Internet, has decided to make the worst god damn apps to iOS, the YouTube app and the YouTube Capture apps. Since it seems nearly impossible to upload a video in true HD-quality, you’ll have to take my word for it when I say that the time lapse looks much better when played from the original file… Fortsätt läsa TomTom Bandit: Time lapse

What’s on the inside

gaugeOnce you start taking things apart it’s hard to break that habit. That’s why I took apart the instrument display of my KTM 690 Enduro today. It’s been flickering a bit and the visibility in sunlight is close to nothing sometimes, so I thought I would look inside since this model is known for having the legs of the display itself vibrating off. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I didn’t have that problem. What I found though was a lot of dirt and some white oxide like powder… Fortsätt läsa What’s on the inside
